BELONG. BELIEVE. BEGIN.

You can belong here, no matter what background you come from or what you believe. You can begin your walk with Jesus at Warroad Community Church, a place where you can BELONG before you believe, BELIEVE before you begin, and BEGIN before it’s too late.

A PEOPLE FOR GOD’S GLORY

G = God
L = Love
O = Obedience
R = Reconciliation
Y = Yoke

GOD: The meaning of life is to give God glory, and we are to understand and reflect that in maintaining a Christ-centered lifestyle. This is expressed in all areas of life; worship, work, entertainment, etc. In all these things we realize they are about Him, and not about us.

LOVE: Our desire to give God glory must be rooted in Love. Firstly, His love for us, and then our love for Him in return. This is shown in our love for our Christian brothers, as well as for the lost. It does not matter what our talents, gifts or obedience level is if we do not have love.

OBEDIENCE: We will Obey if we do love God. Our Faith will create our actions of obedience, not the other way around. True faith will produce Love, and true love will produce obedience.

RECONCILIATION: We have been reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and now bear the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). Just as Christ has made peace between us and the Father, we are called to be ambassadors of this reconciliation, extending His grace to others.

YOKE: Jesus calls us to take His yoke upon us (Matthew 11:28-30), for it is easy and light because He does the work in and through us. We do not labor in our own strength but rest in His grace and sufficiency (2 Corinthians 12:9).

These 5 points are also the standards to measure whether we do a ministry or action in order to keep the church focused on its vision and purpose.

    God

    The purpose of our lives is to glorify God alone (Isaiah 43:7, 1 Corinthians 10:31). Everything we do—our worship, our work, our relationships—must reflect that life is about Him, not us. We seek to keep God at the center, walking in awe of His holiness and majesty, and living in joyful submission to His will.

    Love

    We are only able to love because God first loved us (1 John 4:19). His love is not just a feeling but a sacrificial, life-giving commitment demonstrated in Jesus (Romans 5:8). In response, we love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30) and extend that love to one another—both inside and outside the church. Love is the mark of a disciple, without which all other acts are meaningless (1 Corinthians 13:1-3).

    Obedience

    True love for God produces obedience (John 14:15). We do not obey to earn His favor but as a response to His grace, knowing that our faith is shown through action (James 2:17). Our obedience is not a burden but an expression of trust and worship, as we surrender to His Word and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.

    Reconciliation

    We have been reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and now bear the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). Just as Christ has made peace between us and the Father, we are called to be ambassadors of this reconciliation, extending His grace to others. Whether through evangelism, discipleship, or forgiveness, we seek to bring people into right relationship with God and one another, reflecting His glory in the world.

    Yoke

    Jesus calls us to take His yoke upon us (Matthew 11:28-30), for it is easy and light because He does the work in and through us. We do not labor in our own strength but rest in His grace and sufficiency (2 Corinthians 12:9). As we walk in obedience, yoked to Christ, we find true rest, knowing that our faithfulness is not about striving but about trusting Him, following His lead, and living in the power of His Spirit.
