“If your attitude doesn’t fit in the mouth of Christ, it doesn’t belong. You’re a Christian. You’re a Christ follower, and He’s given you everything you need for godliness in Him.” – Tim Daniels

Philippians 2:3-4 (NKJV) – “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”

Following Christ means more than just following His actions—it means having His attitude, His Spirit, in our hearts, and us in Him. As Tim Daniels reminds us, if our attitude doesn’t fit in the mouth of Christ, it doesn’t belong in our lives. Philippians 2:3-4 calls us to live in humility, to put aside selfish ambition and pride, and to consider others better than ourselves. This kind of selflessness is a reflection of the attitude of Christ, who humbled Himself for our sake. It challenges us to serve others and look out for their needs before our own. In a world that promotes self-interest and personal gain, Christ calls us to a radically different way of living, one marked by humility and genuine care for others. Let’s examine our attitudes today and ask if they reflect the heart and humility of Jesus.

Reflection Question: In what areas of your life are you struggling to put others’ needs before your own, and how can you adopt the humility of Christ in those areas?

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, teach me to adopt the attitude of Christ in all I do. Guide me to lay aside my selfish desires and ambitions, and instruct me to humbly serve others, looking out for their interests before my own. Remind me that the path to godliness is marked by humility, just as Christ demonstrated in His life. Help me to align my thoughts, words, and actions with His, knowing that in doing so, I walk in true obedience. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Psalm 25:9 (NKJV) – “The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way.”
