Pastor Daren’s Quote: “I recognize with a sober love for the Lord that I have to give an account for how I pastor you and how I serve you… It’s a humility thing that we’re doing.”

Bible Verse: James 3:1 (NKJV) – “My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.”

Today we focus on the weight of responsibility that pastors and leaders bear before God. Pastor Daren spoke with humility about his role, acknowledging that pastors must give an account to Christ for how they lead and care for His church. James 3:1 reminds us that teaching and leadership in the church come with greater responsibility and stricter judgment. This accountability is not something to be taken lightly, as it involves guiding God’s people in truth and righteousness. As Pastor Daren said, pastors must love the church with a sober and humble heart, always seeking to serve in alignment with Christ’s will. It is a call to servant leadership, not for personal gain but for the glory of Jesus, the true Shepherd. Today, reflect on the responsibility of those who lead your church, and consider how you can pray for them as they strive to serve Christ faithfully.

Reflection Question: How can I support my pastors as they seek to serve the church faithfully under Christ’s authority?

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the pastors, elders, and other leaders You have placed over Your church. Holy Spirit, guide them in wisdom and humility as they carry the weight of leading Your people. Remind them daily of their accountability to Jesus, and strengthen them to serve with love and grace. Teach me to pray for my leaders and to support them as they shepherd the flock under Christ’s authority. May they lead with joy and not with grief, as they strive to glorify You in all that they do. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Psalm: Psalm 78:72 (NKJV) – “So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.”
