Devotionals are a powerful tool to help us stay focused on the message from Sunday’s sermon and grow in our walk with God. These devotionals guide us into the Scriptures, helping us meditate on the Word and remain in constant prayer throughout the week. As disciples of Christ, daily Bible reading is essential for renewing our minds (Romans 12:2), and prayer allows us to draw near to God with sincerity and faith (Hebrews 10:22).

Our church’s devotionals are part of equipping you with knowledge and wisdom, helping you deepen your understanding of God’s character and His will for your life. By setting aside time each day for devotion, you are actively participating in the process of sanctification—the journey of becoming more like Christ (Hebrews 10:14). Let these devotionals strengthen your faith, focus your heart on the truth of the Gospel, and prepare you to live out what was preached, loving others and bearing good fruit.

Pastoral Accountability to Christ

Today we focus on the weight of responsibility that pastors and leaders bear before God. Pastor Daren spoke with humility about his role, acknowledging that pastors must give an account to Christ for how they lead and care for His church.

Jesus, the Head of the Church

As believers, we are part of the body of Christ, but it is Jesus alone who is the Head. Pastor Daren reminded us that Christ is the one who guides and directs us as His church.

The Body of Christ in Unity

Today’s focus is on the unity of the church as the body of Christ. Pastor Daren emphasized that while there are leaders in the church, all believers are part of one body, working together in harmony.

Christ, Our Head and Shepherd

In the church, pastors and leaders have been given the responsibility to care for the souls of the congregation, but they are not the ultimate leaders—Jesus is. The role of pastors is to guide, nurture, and lead in a way that is faithful to Jesus, who is the Head of the Church. Pastor Daren reminds us that pastors will have to give an account before God for how they cared for His people. It is a sobering responsibility. Hebrews 13:17 teaches us to respect and listen to our leaders in the church because they are accountable to God. But, as Pastor Daren emphasized, leaders are under-shepherds—Jesus alone is the true Shepherd of our souls. In this, we see both the responsibility of the church to follow godly leadership and the leaders’ call to be humble servants, just as Christ modeled. Our obedience to church leaders is ultimately about obeying Christ, who uses them to care for us.

Experiencing God’s Presence

There is nothing like experiencing the presence of God. As Tim Daniels explains, when the Holy Spirit draws near, it’s as if we can feel His very hand upon us. In those moments, we hear Him whispering His love, compassion, and mercy.

The Attitude of Christ

Following Christ means more than just following His actions—it means having His attitude, His Spirit, in our hearts, and us in Him. As Tim Daniels reminds us, if our attitude doesn’t fit in the mouth of Christ, it doesn’t belong in our lives. Philippians 2:3-4 calls us to live in humility, to put aside selfish ambition and pride, and to consider others better than ourselves.
